Introducing Seesaw Service
Just as a seesaw requires balance and collaboration, Seesaw Service was created among high school students to bridge the gap between sighted and visually impaired communities in South Korea. Recognizing the significant challenges faced by the visually impaired, the largest disability group in the country, we are committed to advocating for their inclusion and well-being.
Inspired to undo the pervasive ableist perceptions in South Korea, Seesaw Service seeks to amplify the voices of the visually impaired, challenge societal biases and stigmas, and celebrate the differences that make our narratives unique. Through diverse initiatives–including bi-annual competitions, art fairs, translation services, and dedicated performances–we strive to create a more inclusive and equitable society. While our primary focus is on the visually impaired, we believe that our efforts can serve as a catalyst for a positive change for all.
